Bright Light Academy, LLC is Hiring an One-Year-Old Classroom Assistant Teacher Near Pittsburgh, PA
Bright Light Academy is seeking an experienced Assistant Teacher to join our to join our One-Year-Old classroom. The ideal candidate will have at least two full years of childcare, camp or educational experience, and preferably have a background in education, early childhood development, or psychology. Our one-year-old program serve children ages twelve to twenty-four months and is designed to help them grow and develop in a nurturing, supportive environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
- Assist lead teacher with planning and implementing daily lesson plans and activities
- Help create a safe and stimulating classroom environment for children
- Monitor and engage with children during playtime, meals, and other daily routines
- Provide individual and group support to children as needed
- Communicate regularly with parents about their child's development and progress
Preferred Qualifications:
- At least two years of experience working with children in a childcare or educational setting
- Knowledge of child development and age-appropriate teaching strategies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team
- Must be patient, nurturing, and able to create a positive learning environment
- Flexibility in scheduling is a plus
Skills Required:
- A CDA with some childcare experience OR 2500 hours (one year) of experience. OR
- A completed degree in a field unrelated to childcare AND one year of experience.
- Must be able to lift up to 40lbs., see, hear & sit on the floor with children
- To pass state, federal, and child abuse background checks.
- To be 18 years or older and legally able to work in the United States.
This is a full-time position. For candidates with minimal experience, pay starts at $15.00. For candidates with a non- related degree and multiple years of experience, starting pay may be up to $17.25 per hour (based on education & experience), with an increase after completing your first 90 days. Bright Light Academy is open five days a week, but staff work a four-day work week. If you are passionate about working with young children and have the necessary qualifications, please apply today.
