Bright Eyes Vision Clinic is Hiring an Optometric Technician Near San Antonio, TX

Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Optometric Technician to join our team. Experience is preferred but not required. As an Optometric Technician, you will play a crucial role in assisting optometrists in providing quality eye care to our patients. Your primary responsibilities will include performing diagnostic tests, preparing patients for exams, and maintaining accurate medical records. If you have a passion for eye care and enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, we would love to hear from you.

Duties:

- Perform preliminary tests on patients, including visual acuity, color vision, depth perception, and peripheral vision tests

- Obtain patient medical history and document any relevant information

- Assist with contact lens fittings and instructions for proper use and care

- Administer eye drops or medications as directed by the optometrist

- Conduct diagnostic tests such as tonometry (eye pressure measurement) and visual field testing

- Prepare examination rooms and ensure all equipment is properly sterilized and maintained

- Maintain strict adherence to HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

- Provide exceptional customer service to all patients

Skills:

- Familiarity with front desk operations in a medical setting

- Understanding of aseptic technique for maintaining a sterile environment

- Knowledge of medical records management and documentation practices

- Basic understanding of physiology related to eye care
