The Program Assistant helps to connect pregnant women and families with young children to the services and resources they need by providing diversified support which may include, but is not limited to, talking to families and processing referrals, researching and updating community resources, assisting with events and other projects, and providing general administrative duties as needed.
Experience Requirements (Skills, Knowledge and Abilities) required include:
1. Minimum one year related work experience.
2. Basic skill level in Microsoft Office applications (i.e. word processing, electronic spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software), email applications, and internet usage.
3. Ability to conduct research over the phone and online using Google or other search engines.
4. Ability to maintain confidentiality and use appropriate judgment in handling information and records.
5. Ability to manage multiple tasks and assignments.
6. Ability to establish and maintain a comprehensive record-keeping system and office procedures.
7. Ability to express self effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing.
8. Ability to tactfully and effectively deal with public, staff and patrons.
9. Ability to work independently with general direction.
10. Ability to do live data entry. Data entry and key boarding at 35 words per minute.
Education/License/Other Requirements include:
High School Diploma or equivalent.
