Bridgeway Recovery is Hiring a Kitchen Aide Near Salem, OR

  1. PRIMARY PURPOSE

The Kitchen Aide will ensure that wares for the front and back of the kitchen and Food Truck are clean and sanitized. This position is also expected to provide housekeeping support as needed to maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the assigned spaces/work areas.

  1. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Washes all wares including pots, pans, flatware, and glasses, by hand or using dishwashers.
  • Places and stores correctly clean equipment, dishes, and utensils in assigned storage areas.
  • Stocks serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and other assigned areas with necessary dishes and utensils.
  • Cleans trash receptacles with water or steam.
  • Moves dishwashing supplies and equipment from storage to work area by hand or using hand trucks.
  • Ensures work areas remain safe, clean, and orderly, adhering to all company, local, and state guidelines regarding health, safety, and sanitation.
  • Cleans assigned areas by washing furnishings, walls, floors, and equipment with special cleaning solutions. and disinfectants to prevent the spread of disease.
  • Mop, sweep, dust, and vacuum floors and work areas as appropriate that need attention.
  • Removes trash and/or recycles, restocks paper supplies and liners, etc as needed.
  • Maintains an organized and clean work environment.
  1. OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • May assist in cleaning and preparing various foods for cooking and/or serving, as directed.
  • Attends staff meetings and collaborates with other team members.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Provides Housekeeping support as needed.
  1. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
  1. Experience, Education and Credentials
  • Requires valid Oregon Food Handler card or will to obtain card prior to starting work.
  • Restaurant experience preferred.
  • Qualified candidate must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
  • Must be fully COVID-19 vaccinated before employment start date.
  1. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to understand and follow directions.
  • Ability to understand and meet restaurant standards for health, safety, and excellence.
  • Ability to remain alert and focused within an environment that is noisy and fast-paced.
  • Ability to work effectively with kitchen staff.
  • Organized and attentive to details.
  • Proven ability to be a team player.
  • Exercises flexibility and sound judgement dealing with customer needs.
  • Commitment to professionalism including effective verbal and non-verbal communication.

Specialized equipment used in this job:

  • Standard commercial cooking, cleaning and sanitation tools and equipment.
  • Various food preparation and kitchen equipment.

  2. PHYSICAL DEMAND
  • Prolonged periods walking or standing.
  • Must be able to lift, carry, and place up to 60 pounds at a time.
  • Must be able to workdays, nights, weekends, and/or holidays as needed.
  • Must be able to bend, stoop, and wipe frequently.
  • Must frequently immerse hands in water.
  • Must be able to work in a hot and damp environment.
  1. MENTAL OR VISUAL DEMAND

Continuous mental and/or visual attention; the work is either repetitive or diversified requiring constant alertness.

  1. ENVIRONMENT

Exposure to fumes, noise, heat, cold, and water. The job is typically performed under reasonably good working conditions; while exposure to any or all of the above elements may occur, such exposure is generally not present to the extent of being disagreeable.

  1. SCHEDULING:

Available to work flexible schedule to include evenings and/or weekends and/or holidays.

  1. ATTENDANCE:

Compliance with general company standards is acceptable.
