POSITION SUMMARY: The Medical Assistant serves as support personnel following regulations for the practice of Medical Assistants including assisting with patient admissions, patient procedures, care and maintenance of procedural instrumentation, discharging patients, chart preparation, medical records, medication administration, assisting providers and other personnel as needed, and other collateral duties. WHAT WE OFFER:Hourly wage of $18 - $22 based on experience6.5 paid holidays per yearApproximately 10 days of PTO within first yearEmployee Referral ProgramFull slate of benefits to include health, dental, vision, and 401kNo nights, weekends, or holiday shiftsESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:•Provide patient care to individuals in the pre-surgical, operative and recovery periods while under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse; collaborates with medical staff and other departments daily to promote coordination of patient care. •Provide support to nursing staff: transport of the patient, housekeeping duties associated with changeover of pre-surgical, operating room, and post-surgical areas including linen changes and disinfection processes.•Provide administrative support to the ASC: clerical duties to include but not limited to assisting with chart maintenance/scanning, data entry, copying, dictations, phone calls, inventory, and supply restocking.•Ensure quality of care by adhering to compliance standards; following ASC philosophies and standards of care set by state board of licensure and other governing agency regulations.•Establish a compassionate environment by providing emotional and psychological support to patients, friends, and families.•Maintain safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations, calling for assistance from health care support personnel.•Protect patients and staff by adhering to infection-control policies and protocols, medication administration and storage procedures, and controlled substance regulations.•Maintain compliance with the organization's confidentiality policy in accordance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA).•Monitor ASC processes to ensure compliance with the organization's policies and with the guidelines set by relevant regulatory agencies.EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: •High School Diploma or GED.•Current certification in Basic Life Support is required.•Current certification from an accredited medical assisting program, ie. CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA.
