BRIDGESTONE is Hiring a Production Supervisor Near Covington, GA

The Production Supervisor must be able to understand, practice and train others in the basic production fundamentals including 3S check system, safety, company policy, environmental and quality policies. Must be hands-on. Meets or exceeds all objectives as established for production operator positions. Assists the Golf Ball Production management as assigned. Must be highly visible, easily accessible, and able to solve potential problems that arise on the production floor.
  • Meets and/or exceeds the daily production targets through scheduling of operators to maximize productivity and minimize downtime.
  • Organizes, monitors, and prioritizes tasks to meet production goals.
  • Evaluates various stations of the production operation to ensure optimum efficiency.
  • Maintains communication between employees, departments, and management to ensure procedures and policies are well-understood.
  • Ensures the flow of materials and other resources.
  • Supervises and will coach employee(s) including completion of performance reviews and performance discipline.
  • Train new employees on production process and how to safely use machinery and follow procedures
  • Completes all necessary documents in a clear and timely manner.
  • Contributes to departmental improvements through the creation of work instructions, standard operating procedures (SOP), troubleshooting guides, etc.
  • Able to perform departmental tests.
  • Submit reports on performance and production progress.
  • Identify issues in efficiency and suggest improvements.
  • Assists the Director with continuous improvement activities.
  • Example to others by supporting and projecting a positive behavior style and attitude toward BSG policies.
  • Able to continuously learn, practice and teach all manufacturing techniques.
  • Review and approve weekly payroll timesheets.
  • Ensures compliance with safety and professional standards within a facility including the principles of BSFA system.
  • Wears proper PPE and identifies and reports potential safety hazards.
  • Responsible for accurate reporting of on-the-job accidents.
  • Responsible for maintaining 3S, QS and ISO-14001 compliant procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Directly supervises 20 - 30 employees in all golf ball production related departments. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems on all production shifts. Ensures adherence to OSHA and environmental laws and regulations.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

High school diploma and/or general education degree (GED); or one to three years related experience with supervisory skills and/or training; and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondences. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to use hands to finger, handle or feel. The employee is occasionally required to sit and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts. The employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particle, risk of electrical shock and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
