Who are we seeking
We are currently looking for a highly motivated compassionate self-starter to be an integral part of the Leadership Team. A person who can be responsible for measuring and evaluating established programs. The Director will be tasked with creating new programs to help eliminate homelessness in Essex and Union Counties and establish metrics to ensure they are embedded into decision making around evaluating effectiveness of existing and new programs, and returns on investments.
What will you do
This position will be based at Bridges’ Project Connect drop-in centers in both Essex and Union Counties. The function of this position is to establish programs that provide supportive services to individuals and families to help them overcome barriers to permanent housing. The programs may include, but are not limited to, assisting the individual with gathering documentation, increasing income, accessing appropriate mental and physical health services, and any other services that can assist an individual to improve his/her quality of life. The Director of Programs & Impact requires a proactive individual with an entrepreneurial mindset, excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills. This person will also:
● Provide impact-focused leadership to ensure fulfillment of mission, goals and objectives
● Provide strategic and administrative oversight of Bridges’ programs & services in Essex and Union Counties
● Be a key member of the Bridges Leadership Team and contribute to the overall strategy to end homelessness
● Provide leadership to Program Managers who are leading County-wide programs
● Develop Policies and Procedures for growing a diverse team of client-facing staff, both on the streets and in office settings
● Identify service gaps and unmet needs in the communities we serve
● Become well-versed in the homeless services structures in the communities and ecosystems in which we serve
● Responsible for impact data strategy and leveraging those data for continuous improvement
● Navigate industry systems (ie HMIS, Excel, ets)
● Identify opportunities for programmatic growth
● Prepare reports on progress of programs and services with regular frequency
What are the requirements
● Bachelor’s or higher degree in social work and/or related field (e.g. Psychology, Sociology, Counseling)
● Minimum 4 years’ experience managing or leading a team of social workers or case managers
● Minimum 4 years’ experience with mental health, substance abuse counseling, life coaching, etc.
● Minimum 4 years’ experience in the homeless services and prevention ecosystem
● Experience establishing programs for an environment with high client volume
● Sensitivity to economic and sociological barriers
● Crisis de-escalation certification (Plus)
● Excellent written and oral communication skills
● Demonstrates cultural competence and understanding
● Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel or Google Docs and Sheets
Additional Qualifications, Strengths and Skills
● Notary or eligible to obtain status
● 80% travel required in the Union & Essex County region
● Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus

Salary: $75,000 - $85,000 per year
Home Office: Newark, NJ and Summit, NJ
