We are seeking a highly qualified and dedicated Special Education Teacher to join our school district in Dallas on a contracted basis. As a contracted Special Education Teacher, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional educational support to students with diverse learning needs. Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students with special needs, in collaboration with the IEP team.
Deliver specialized instruction and interventions to students with disabilities, utilizing appropriate teaching strategies and accommodations.
Adapt curriculum materials and instructional techniques to meet individual student needs and promote their academic progress.
Assess students' educational progress regularly and modify instructional methods accordingly.
Collaborate with general education teachers and other specialists to promote an inclusive learning environment and ensure that students' needs are met in the least restrictive environment.
Provide guidance and support to general education teachers in implementing accommodations and modifications for students with disabilities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student progress, attendance, and other relevant information.
Communicate regularly with parents/guardians to provide feedback on student progress and address their concerns.
Attend IEP meetings, team meetings, and professional development sessions as required.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Special Education or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
Valid State teaching license in Special Education.
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including those with specific learning disabilities, emotional/behavioral disorders, and autism spectrum disorders.
Knowledge of special education laws and regulations, including the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).
Strong understanding of evidence-based instructional strategies and interventions for students with disabilities.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with colleagues, parents/guardians, and external stakeholders.
Organizational skills and attention to detail to maintain accurate records and comply with administrative requirements.
Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines.
