Position Purpose
The Communications Center at Brewster Place is the hub of all communications during routine and emergency operations. The communication center operates 24/7 year-round. The communication center is a fast-paced work environment, and applicants should be good at multitasking during stressful situations. The 1st shift Communications Officer works Monday through Friday from 6:30 am to 3:00 pm.
Principal Accountabilities and Essential Duties of the Job
Answering Incoming phone calls from internal and external phone lines.
Dispatching Security and Transportation Officers via PTT digital radio system.
Updating and tracking of transport and companion requests via Transportation log system.
Maintaining a detailed Communication Center log.
Controlling access to buildings via access control system.
Use of Multiple software systems for emergency communications to staff and residents.
Other duties as assigned by Security/Communications Supervisor.
