Responsibilities:

- Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding and billing
- Assign appropriate medical codes
- Verify patient insurance coverage and process claims for reimbursement
- Follow up on unpaid claims and resolve billing discrepancies
- Maintain updated knowledge of medical coding guidelines and regulations
- Collaborate with healthcare providers to obtain necessary documentation for billing purposes
- Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations and patient confidentiality

Requirements:

- Previous experience in a medical office or healthcare setting
- Proficiency in medical terminology, coding systems, and medical billing processes
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy in coding and billing procedures
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively
- Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and billing software
