Responsibilities
- Serve as a liaison between clinical staff, IT personnel, and other stakeholders to ensure the EHR system meets the clinical needs of the healthcare institution.
- Participate in the implementation and ongoing maintenance, improvement, and optimization of clinical information systems and applications.
- Manage the EHR and other clinical software to meet the specific needs of the healthcare institution, including creating templates, order sets, and clinical decision support tools.
- Provide training and support to clinical staff in the use of the EHR and other clinical applications.
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to clinical software applications, working with IT support teams as needed.
- Participate in quality assurance and testing of clinical systems before implementation to ensure accuracy and functionality.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to support patient safety, regulatory compliance, and the achievement of healthcare outcomes.
- Provide regular updates to the HIT Director about the status of information system projects and ongoing support activities.
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field such as Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Information Technology with a focus on healthcare, or related field
- Clinical experience in a healthcare setting is highly preferred.
- Knowledge of EHR systems and clinical informatics principles.
- Proficiency in healthcare data standards such as HL7, ICD10, CPT.
- Familiarity with federal, state, and local regulations and accreditation standards related to electronic health records and patient privacy.
- Valid driver's license and access to a vehicle for client visits.
