Position Type:Permanent Full Time/Part Time:Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$16.21 to $17.83 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications.Beachside/Melbourne Beach/South Beaches WWTP. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. and includes standby, overtime, and holidays as needed. Performs entry-level service maintenance work in the maintenance, construction, and repair of utility mains and facilities. Work involves on-the-job training and includes digging ditches manually for line excavation and pipeline installation; assisting in grouting, fitting pipe, locating lateral sewer lines, and operating the sewer cleaner vacuum, and other mechanical equipment.

REQUIREMENTS:High school diploma or its equivalent, as required by the Florida Department of Environmental Protection (FDEP). Experience in the repair and maintenance of utilities distribution and collection facilities is preferred.SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS: Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment. Must be physically capable at all times of properly wearing andutilizing all required personal protective equipment (PPE), which may include respiratory protection. Must be able to work planned and unplanned overtime and standby and call-out duties on a rotational basis, including nights, weekends, and holidays. The employee will be required to satisfactorily complete all mandatory County training. In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
