Brevard County Sheriff's Office is Hiring a District and School Security Analyst Near Melbourne, FL

JOB
This position provides support for the security of public schools. Responsible for monitoring security cameras, assisting with activation of emergency procedures and vulnerability assessments. Assists deputies with cases, distributes intelligence, and prepares reports and bulletins. This position works within a general outline of work to be performed under general supervision; makes decisions according to established guidelines.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
The tasks below are those that represent the majority of the time spent working in this class. Management may assign additional related tasks as necessary. Assist with the activation of General Emergency Procedures (GEP) at for Brevard County Public Schools.Monitor and assist with RAVE Panic Button activations, and the application of Mutualink with law enforcement during critical incidents.Monitor Brevard County Public School's security camera system.Manage software databases for registered volunteers.Manage access control software for security locks.Provide assistance to District Security with conducting Vulnerability Assessments with Brevard County Public School sites.Works with the District level threat assessment team to review threat assessments conducted at the school level and provides findings to Supervisor as needed.Perform social media reviews for school based Threat Assessment Teams.Provide assistance to District Staff in the preparation of the annual FSSAT.Registers and fingerprints BPS employees, volunteers, and contractors.Answer departmental telephones and provides the requested information or directs calls to the appropriate personnel.Prepares crime/officer safety bulletins and intelligence reports.Searches databases for intelligence; analyzes that data for pertinent links and associations.Documents and researches information from citizens and law enforcement personnel related to area of assignment; analyzes to link intelligence to other cases making notifications as appropriate.Assist deputies with intelligence requests.Provides organizational support for area of responsibility.Performs routine office tasks such as typing, filing, faxing, telephoning and copying.Regular, dependable and punctual attendance is an essential function of this job.
SUPPLEMENTAL INFORMATION
Work is primarily performed in an office environment. Position works closely with Brevard Public School (BPS) staff. Work is primarily conducted during normal business hours (Monday – Friday 8am-5pm). Employees are required to respond to calls after hours as needed to assist with after hour investigations. ADA Requirements: Physical and Dexterity Requirements: Requires sedentary work that involves walking or standing some of the time, exerting up to 10 pounds of force on a recurring basis and routine keyboard operations.Environmental Hazards: This job risks exposure to office related odors, dust and fumes.Sensory requirements: The job requires normal visual acuity and field of vision, hearing and speaking.During an emergency, the Sheriff will determine who is considered an emergency responder and whose work is necessary to maintain the operation of law enforcement and correctional facilities.
