Department : PUBLIC WORKS DEPARTMENT Organizational Unit : Roadway and Bridge (50000074)

Position Type : Permanent Full Time / Part Time : Full Time

Open Until Filled.

$16.21 to $17.83 hourly. Actual salary negotiable based on experience and qualifications. North Area / Titusville. Work schedule is Monday through Friday 7 : 00 a.

m. to 3 : 30 p.m. Performs experienced service work operating light automotive vehicles or equipment and performing routine automotive service and maintenance.

REQUIREMENTS : Six (6) months of experience operating and maintaining light automotive vehicles and / or equipment, including 5-yard dump trucks, pick-up trucks, step vans, jeeps, panel trucks, hydraulic / slope tractor mowers, sweepers, forklifts, flatbed trucks, compactors, small rollers, and / or other similar public works vehicles and equipment used to maintain roads, drainage, sidewalks, and landscaping.

Additional qualifying education and / or experience may be substituted on a year for year basis. SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS : Must possess, or obtain prior to employment, a valid Florida Class B Commercial Driver's license and maintain said license during the term of employment.

This is heavy physical work that involves exposure to dirt, dust, noise, moving machinery, working in and around traffic, and extreme weather conditions.

In the event of a hurricane, major storm, natural or man-made disaster that may threaten the area, the employee will be required to perform emergency duties as directed.
