Account Receivable Specialist – Part-time
The Part-time Account Receivable Specialist position is responsible for managing the member billing process, handling all inquiries regarding billing and payments and assisting with other accounting tasks as needed.

Supervises: None

Education and Experience

• Experience in the private country club or hospitality industry preferred
• Minimum of an Associates degree preferred
• 3 years of experience in receivables, billing, or bookkeeping
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience with Jonas Club Software is preferred
• Strong understanding of accounting principles

Requirements and Qualifications

• Must have reliable transportation. No public transportation is available
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, specifically Excel, Word, Outlook and OneDrive
• Knowledge of basic accounting principles and/or experience with accounts receivable entries
• Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships with members
• Must be able to handle difficult conversations with members who are overdue on payments and work to find a solution that satisfies both parties
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality
• Proven ability to exercise good judgment and discretion
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Ability to work extended hours when needed
• High level of integrity and dependability with a strong sense of urgency and results-driven
• Detail-oriented and possesses a strong work ethic
• Ability to work well independently and collaboratively
• Ability to successfully manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Must have reliable transportation – no public transportation is available

Essential Functions

• Works with Membership Sales staff to ensure timely billing of dues and initiation fees
• Ensure member services billings are processed in accordance with billing calendar
• Perform monthly accounts receivable closing, generate monthly account statements
• Print and mail paper statements and send electronic statements via email
• Work with members to resolve any billing issues or disputes
• Process payments and update member accounts
• Reconcile month-end aged receivables report to general ledger
• Initiate requests for billing adjustments to various operations departments
• Research chit issues and prepare reports of any adjustments made to member accounts on a monthly basis for management
• Prepare reports and save them in electronic format
• Monitor member account balances and adjust required for accurate reporting
• Identify delinquent member accounts and work with Controller to review
• Record payments in accounts receivable system (Electronic payments and checks)
• Collects overdue balances
• Maximize use of Jonas Club Software and Microsoft Office to automate operations and reporting processes
• Complete additional tasks as assigned
• Answer incoming phone calls and route as appropriate
• Return messages in a timely manner
• Provide excellent customer service to all members, guests and staff
• Complete additional tasks as assigned
