Brentwood Baptist Church is Hiring a CAMPUS & TEACHING PASTOR - THE CHURCH AT WOODBINE Near Nashville, TN

The Woodbine Campus and Teaching Pastor is responsible to the church, under the direction of the Lead Campus Pastor North Region and in conjunction with the Associate Executive Pastor for leading by providing spiritual leadership for the campus and its staff. The Campus and Teaching Pastor works with staff and church leaders to align strategies and ministries to accomplish the overall vision of the church. The Campus and Teaching Pastor is responsible to the church to proclaim the Gospel of Jesus Christ, to teach the Biblical truth, effectively communicate the church’s vision and fervently pray for the church and its mission.
PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
1. Preaching and Teaching:
  • Preach on Sundays, teach on Wednesdays & in other Settings as needed.
  • Meet regularly with North Region Lead Pastor and BBC Preaching Team to collaborate on sermon planning.
  • Meet with Lead Pastor and Senior Pastor as requested for coaching and development in preaching.
2. Shaping Campus Culture for Alignment with Brentwood Baptist Mission & Vision:
  • Contextualize church-wide goals to our campus and reports against these goals regularly and annually.
  • Refine, implement, and document campus specific strategy for worship, groups, missions, etc.
  • Coordinate & maintain healthy collaboration with central support ministries (Missions, Groups, Worship, etc.)
  • Establish, Communicate, and implement vision, goals, and strategies amongst the staff and congregation.
3. Leadership Development:
  • Responsibility for leading, shepherding, developing and maximizing the potential of the campus staff.
  • Committed to developing current and future leaders in the congregation, through mentorships and providing preaching/teaching opportunities where possible.
  • Help develop and equip emerging leaders in our church-wide leadership pipeline.
4. Pastoral Care:
  • Oversee pastoral care at the Woodbine campus in coordination with congregational care standards.
  • Oversee referrals to other staff & professional counselors, and serve in the minister on-call rotation.
  • Serve as the contact with Woodbine Deacons & Nurture Team.
5. Prayer & Vision Casting:
  • Devote consistent time to prayer for how to implement the BBC vision at Woodbine Campus.
  • Consistently provide clarity to the staff and congregation for campus vision, strategies, and tactics.
  • Meet with the Lead Pastor and Senior Pastor as needed for coaching and equipping as it relates to casting vision for the Woodbine campus.
OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES may include but are not limited to the following:
  • Perform other duties assigned by the Lead Pastor, Senior Executive Pastor, and the Senior Pastor.
  • Be willing to serve on any ad hoc leadership teams or councils as requested.
  • Effectively supervise, communicate and work alongside an administrative assistant, who will help carry-out the day to day administrative responsibilities of the Woodbine campus.
  • Pray with and for all staff members on a regular basis and hold staff members accountable for personal spiritual and ministerial growth (self-development plan).
  • Participate in weekly campus staff meetings, as well as quarterly meetings for the Brentwood Baptist staff.
  • Report to the Associate Executive Pastor regularly per the performance management system on team progress and initiatives. Report annually to the Trustees and the Staff Resource Team.
  • Represent the Woodbine Campus for church-wide leadership gatherings, strategic planning meetings, etc.
  • Work directly with the North Region Associate Executive Pastor to develop and implement annual budget for the Woodbine campus and individual ministries.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • A personal sense of calling from God to vocational Christian ministry in general and to serve as a campus pastor specifically.
  • Closely identify and support the mission, vision, methodology, and values of Brentwood Baptist Church.
  • Alignment with the scriptural, theological, and doctrinal beliefs of Brentwood Baptist Church, as outlined in the Baptist Faith and Message.
  • A mature Christian who is demonstrates the Fruits of the Spirit, is growing in their faith and is committed to spiritual disciplines such as Bible reading, prayer.
  • Strong managerial and leadership skills combined with an exceptional relational ability. Training in Modelnetics (Main Event Management) preferred or will be required in the first year.
  • Ability to collaborate, cooperate and function well in a team environment.
  • Demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:
  • Minimum of a Seminary Level Masters Degree is highly preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years ministry experience is required working in the local church or Christian ministry context. Preference is given to those working in a multi-site and/or large church setting.
All campuses function under the governance of Brentwood Baptist Church. Each campus is an established entity operating as a whole and permanent part of Brentwood Baptist. Each maintains pre-determined alignment characteristics that uphold the Brentwood Baptist “DNA” while also containing some contextualized characteristics to allow it to best reach its target local community. Every staff member is an employee of Brentwood Baptist.
