Purpose
The Receptionist acts as the first point of contact for all office guests and is responsible for the administrative tasks associated with daily business operations.
Essential Job Functions
Greet clients, visitors, and guests
Determine the purpose of each person’s visit and escort them to the appropriate person or location
Answer, screen, and direct phone calls to staff
Take messages and schedule appointments as needed
Receive mail, documents, packages, and courier delivers and distribute them accordingly
Perform general administrative and clerical duties such as filing, recordkeeping, copying, and upkeep of front lobby and reception desk
Data entry projects
Other duties as assigned
Work Hours
This is a non-exempt position. Work hours to be determined based on the needs of the business. Overtime may be required to meet business needs.
Competencies
Excellent verbal communication skills
Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
Basic understanding of administrative and clerical procedures and systems
Proficient with Excel, Word and other related software
Work Environment
Standard office with shared common space and individual workspaces with dividers.
Physical Demands
Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk
Prolonged periods of working at a computer
Must be able to lift 20 pounds
Supervisory Responsibility
None. All questionable matters are referred to Supervisor.
