Job Description 

JOB TITLE: Family Resource Youth Service Center Coordinator

SUPERVISOR: Principal and Chief Information Officer

EXEMPT STATUS: Exempt 

WORK YEAR: Up to 240 Days

APPROVED: 3/8/2023

BASIC FUNCTION: Through the Family Resource/Youth Services Center Program (FRYSC), to act as a representative of the school in order to help students and families resolve those academic, personal, emotional, and social problems that interfere with their adjustment to life and their capacity to enjoy the fullest benefits of the education offered them.

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES:

  • Promotes the establishment of positive working relationships with various community agencies and coordinates the development of referral and when feasible, services agreements with these resources
  • Consults and collaborates with other school personnel in gathering and giving information on students
  • Acts as a representative to community resource agencies
  • Assists in the planning, developing, implementing, and evaluation of programs and services to meet the needs of students who have special programs
  • Develops and implements a procedure of an on-going needs assessment
  • Assists in the development, coordination, training and supervision of staff, including both paid and volunteer workers
  • Assists in the evaluation and monitoring of all program components including goals, objectives, tasks, and timeliness from the work plan
  • Assures compliance with all Board of Education, local and state reporting requirements and evaluation systems
  • Promotes and facilitates the delivery of direct services
  • Seeks additional funding for the FR/YSC Program
  • Makes home visits as necessary to promote the goals of the FY/YSC program
  • Promotes the development of additional or supplemental community resources
  • Assumes responsibility for disseminating information in regard to the Center
  • Maintains current knowledge of the FR/YSC program’s rules, regulations, requirements and restrictions
  • Develops and participates in outreach strategies for the delivery of services
  • Serves on and works collaboratively with the Center’s Advisory Council and the local Multi-Agency Council
  • Maintains and provides for the Center’s Resource/Lending Library materials
  • Organizes and supervises the maintenance of an accurate system of record keeping; keeps complete, up-to-date, and accurate records as required by law, policy, and administrative regulations. 
  • Prepares and maintains an inventory of services offered by community health and welfare agencies
  • Presents a positive image of the program to the community, and conveys to them the program's genuine concern with the education growth, and development of each child
  • Perform related duties as assigned

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

The work is primarily sedentary. The work requires the use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. The work at times requires bending, squatting, reaching, with the ability to lift, carry, push or pull light weights. The work requires activities involving driving automotive equipment.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: 

  • Experience and preparation required by the Board
  • Bachelor's Degree with major study area in social work, psychology, or other human services field. Certification and training to be completed within the first six months of employment include CPR, First Aid and CDL training.

LICENSES AND OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

  • Kentucky certification appropriate to the grade level and curricular assignment
  • Has met the requirements for criminal records check and child abuse and neglect check as specified by Kentucky State Law
  • Has met health requirements as specified in district personnel policy
