Breaking the Cycle is a small business in Millinocket, ME. We are agile, supportive, rewarding and our goal is to Breaking the Cycle is a State Licensed Women's Recovery Treatment Facility. We opened in 2020 as a sober house for women, and have since taken our program to the next level providing onsite clinicians, medical direction, 24 hour staffing and the ability to bill insurances, including Mainecare. We are women in recovery ourselves who have the drive and desire to pass on what has been so freely given to us through 12-Step Programs and a strong sober community. We see the gaps in the healthcare system specifically relating to recovery based services and we aim to build a bridge between the different stages of recovering from substance use disorder (ie. detox to treatment facility to recovery housing and into independent living). Breaking the Cycle takes a very family-oriented and person-centered approach. We believe in providing a safe sober space where we can assist the resident in addressing all of their specific needs, from medical, dental and med management, to housing and legal issues. We focus heavily on family reunification, and have created an environment where children are welcome for both day and overnight visits. **Job Summary:**

We are seeking compassionate individuals to join our team as Direct Support Professionals. As a Direct Support Professional, you will provide essential care and support to individuals, new in sobriety, with diverse needs. The residential staff will work with the clinical staff providing day-to-day direct care to the residents of Breaking the Cycle. They will teach and assist residents in performing daily living functions, support implementation and execution of behavioral programs, and work with residents on an individual and/or small group basis.

**Responsibilities:**

• Help to provide a safe environment for all clients by monitoring client activity to promote healing and recovery
• Assist clients in daily living activities as needed to ensure that the health and safety needs of all clients are being met
• Monitor and provide emergency medical care if needed
• Demonstrates knowledge and ability to use de-escalation techniques as necessary
• Communicate clients progress/regress to clinical staff at daily briefings and/or through verbal communication with clinical staff
• Participate in daily clinical briefings to support the clinical staff in implementation of wellness plans for each client
• Assist with intake/discharge, transfers, and orientations in accordance to program policies and procedures
• Conduct regular safety checks to ensure client well-being
• Accompany clients to any offsite appointments or programs
• Assist administrative staff as needed
