Responsibilities:
- Assist with food preparation tasks, such as chopping vegetables, preparing sauces, and marinating meats
- Follow recipes and portion guidelines to ensure consistent quality and quantity of food
- Prepare meals according to dietary restrictions or special requests
- Adhere to food safety and sanitation standards to maintain a clean and safe work environment
- Assist with menu planning and suggest new dishes or improvements to existing recipes
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation and timely service
- Operate kitchen equipment, such as knives, mixers, and grills, safely and efficiently
Skills:
- Previous experience in food preparation or a related role is preferred
- Knowledge of food safety practices and regulations
- Ability to follow recipes and portion guidelines accurately
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent knife skills for cutting, slicing, and dicing ingredients
- Basic cooking skills and familiarity with various cooking techniques
- Understanding of menu planning and the ability to suggest new dishes or improvements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks simultaneously
- Knowledge of the food industry and restaurant operations is a plus
- Willingness to learn and help out in various areas of the kitchen as needed
