We are a healthcare startup changing the landscape around how people access mental health services. Through telehealth services we are able to reach those in need who may not have access to treatment in an office setting. Our team members work from home, delivering therapy and medication support, virtually over voice/video/electronic platforms, directly to a patient in their own home. This increases access to care for those who may not be near a town, may have transportation challenges, may be sheltering in place during COVID-19, or have an illness that makes it difficult to leave their home.

Job Summary

We are currently seeking a full-time Credentialing Coordinator to join our team to assist us with administrative tasks pertaining to our practitioners’ credentialing. The Credentialing Coordinator will organize, maintain, and verify all aspects of the process, and maintain current electronic files on practitioners. You will track the expiration of certifications to maintain up-to-date files, and assist health plans, providers, and other departments with credentialing inquiries.

This role will own the payor enrollment process for Brave Health under the leadership of the Payor Contracting & Credentialing Manager.

To be successful in this role you should ensure the currency and accuracy of all information relations to our providers’ credentialing files. Preferred candidates will be reliable, energetic, and have excellent people skills.

Key Responsibilities:

-Processing initial credentialing and re-credentialing applications.

-Screening practitioners’ applications and supporting documentation to ascertain their eligibility.

-Assist Credentialing Specialists with collecting information from relevant primary sources such as National Provider Data Bank (NPDB), etc.

-Identifying discrepancies in information and conducting follow-ups.

-Assisting providers and other Brave departments with credentialing inquiries.

-Assisting health plans with credentialing inquiries.

-Partner with HR during onboarding to ensure new providers submit current credentialing documentation for primary source verification.

-Ensuring compliance with applicable laws, regulations, procedures, and policies.

-Serve as a resource to new hires to answer questions about payor enrollment and credentialing efforts.

-Growth and change is to be expected in a startup - you can expect to implement process and tool changes as the organization continues to scale.

Qualifications:

-Three or more years of relevant credentialing experience required

-Preference given to candidates who have led other credentialing specialists and/or led key change initiatives

-Highly tools/automation oriented - you are a natural seeker of new tools and technologies and are a proactive evaluator and recommender, of ways to grow and scale more efficiently

-Must have strong organizational skills and ability to multitask effectively

-Able to work under pressure and adapt easily to change - startups cannot always predict how fast the business will grow and how much provider hiring is needed much more in advance than a month or two.

-Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Healthcare or Business Administration, or related field preferred

-Remote work experience strongly preferred;

  • already comfortable with remote colleagues, remote communication,
  • really strong at written communication and building data that is accessible to others who need to know the status of various licensure and credentialing details so they too can complete their work
  • Good home set up for working remotely so that participation in group Zoom meetings or one to one can go smoothly, and confidential information about Providers is not visible to others
