Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Pipefitter to join our team. The Pipefitter will be responsible for building, installing, and maintaining piping systems in accordance with blueprints and specifications. The ideal candidate will have strong mechanical knowledge and experience in pipe threading, welding, tube bending, and HVAC systems.
Duties:
- Read and interpret blueprints and specifications to determine pipe layouts and materials required
- Measure, cut, thread, and bend pipes using hand and power tools
- Weld pipes together using various welding techniques such as FCAW (Flux-Cored Arc Welding)
- Install and maintain piping systems for water, gas, steam, air conditioning, and other fluids
- Inspect and test installed systems for leaks or malfunctions
- Collaborate with other tradespeople to ensure proper installation of pipes in new construction projects or renovations
- Perform routine maintenance on piping systems to ensure optimal performance
- Rig pipes for lifting and positioning using appropriate equipment
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of pipefitting techniques and procedures
- Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints and specifications
- Experience in pipe threading, welding, tube bending, and HVAC systems
- Ability to use hand and power tools effectively
- Excellent problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues with piping systems
- Attention to detail to ensure accurate measurements and precise pipe fitting
