Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled individual to join our team as a zookeeper. As a part time zookeeper, you will be responsible for various duties related to animal care, educating the public, and environmental conservation. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about animals and the environment to make a positive impact.

Duties:

1. Responsible for routine food preparation, feeding, animal husbandry, monitoring animals' wellbeing, and maintenance of animal exhibits; assist in compliance with AZA rules and regulations.

2. Responsible for enriching animals

3. Assist with daily operational needs of equipment, buildings, exhibits, and grounds.

4. Assist in monitoring and implementing animal health programs; work with zoo veterinarians and other medical personnel to ensure the proper care and health of the animal collection.

5. Maintain accurate records of animal observations, research findings, and veterinary treatments

6. Assist with public speaking engagements.

7. Perform landscaping and grounds duties as directed.

8. Other duties that pertain to the daily operation of a zoological park.

Desirable Minimum Qualifications: Applicants should have a high school diploma or GED certificate; some animal care experience or be able to demonstrate an ability to work with animals; the ability to lift 75lbs; and must have a valid driver’s license.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $12.00 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 32 per week

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift
• Every weekend
• Holidays
