Qualifications: Display positive attitude and teamwork skills. Must complete a pre-employment physical and drug test. Must pass pulmonary fitness test. Must complete power jack/forklift training course, Lock Out/Tag Out and Hazard Communication training courses. Must be able to stand and walk up to 12 hours per day. Ability to frequently bend, lift and twist. Must be able and available to work overtime as required.
Job Summary: Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as production demands may require:
Essential Functions:
Must obey all safety, USDA, HACCP, and the Company rules and regulations.
Must know shop mathematics, able to interpret drawings, and be able to use tools required.
Maintain entire ammonia system including valve gangs, evaporators, vessels, compressors, etc.
Observe and record temperatures and pressures as required
Observe and maintain air compressors and dryers.
Maintain water systems including pumps and softeners
Maintain quick water system
Variety of pipefitting and plumbing, work with PVC, galvanized, black and stainless pipe up to 4" dia.
Perform HAZMAT duties as required.
Keep compressor rooms and related areas cleaned.
Must be proficient in the following areas including use of related tools and equipment:
AMMONIA SYSTEMS; IIAR or RETA Certifications are a requirement.
Operator 1 certification
PLC Troubleshooting and/or programming
Electrical controls, wiring, instrumentation & Troubleshooting
Pipe Fitting/Plumbing
Pneumatics
Automatic Equipment Operation.
Communicating with management when there are concerns with the following:Production, Safety & Employee Relations
Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client. Also, perform other related duties as required by management.
Education:High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience/Requirements:
Proficient in Ammonia Systems.
Physical requirements must be able to lift 50-70 lbs. on a consistent basis.
Must have good communication skills (both written and oral).
Must be able to work weekends and overtime.
Working Conditions:High noise, varied temperatures (warm to cold), slippery floors, moving equipment and dust may be present. Job requires frequent bending, lifting and twisting, climbing, working in tight places, etc. Employees will wear personal protective equipment as necessary or required.
