Braintree Public School District is Hiring a Bulletin 1383 Director of Finance and Operations Near Braintree, MA

The Braintree Public School District is seeking a Director of Finance and Operations.

REPORTS TO: Superintendent of School

SUPERVISES: All personnel as designated by the Superintendent

PERFORMANCE GOAL: To administer the business affairs of the Braintree Schools in such a way as to provide the best possible educational services with the resources available.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  1. Master's Degree in Business Education or Accounting;
  2. Valid Massachusetts certificate as a School Business Administrator preferred;
  3. Experience in school business administration;
  4. Knowledge and experience in computer applications for business operations;
  5. Knowledge and experience in school construction and facility maintainance;
  6. Massachusetts Certified Public Purchasing Official (MCPPO) certification preferred;
  7. Such alternatives to the above as the Superintendent may find appropriate and acceptable.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. Directs, supervises and evaluates all finance office staff;
  2. Supervises and maintains the accounting and financial control systems for all school department funds, including state and federal projects;
  3. Directs, supervises and evaluates the Director of Food Services and Transportation Coordinator;
  4. Administers and supervises school transportation services;
  5. Oversees the development of capital projects; the purchasing process including vendor selection; contract preparations and awarding;and inventory and supply control;
  6. Seeks out and writes grants that will bring additional financial resources to the School Department;
  7. Supervises the preparation of all reports requested by state or federal agencies;
  8. Maintains an up-to-date inventory of school department property.
  9. Prepares all bidding documents including notice to bidders, instructions to bidders, specifications and forms of proposal.
  10. Maintains and reports, on a weekly basis, to the Superintendent, up-to-date budget balances on appropriated line items and special accounts;
  11. Assists the Superintendent of Schools in preparation of the annual budget;
  12. Coordinates all business office operations with other town and state departments;
  13. Completes statistical data as requested and undertakes various related projects as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools.
