Position Overview

Assist the Regional Credit and Collections Manager in leading the credit and collections team. Maintain accounts that are given credit terms. Monitor accounts to make sure they are in good credit standing. Keep the Regional Credit and Collections manager informed as to issues, problems or concerns in the department regarding all aspects of credit and collections.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Review account information to determine if customer orders will be released for delivery based upon their credit limit, days outstanding and payment history.
  • Review the equipment orders to verify accurate customer information and order details. (tax, deposit, & terms).
  • Submission of AIA billing timely and accurately.
  • Review trial balance on accounts which are in a delinquent status.
  • Send invoices to customers for deposit on an as needed basis.
  • Ensure new customer set up is complete.
  • Contact delinquent customer accounts for payment; work with customer and manager to assist in a reasonable resolution of delinquency.
  • Record all pertinent information regarding accounts in the database system for future referral.
  • Research problem accounts in areas such as duplicate billings, returned items, and short payments, including pricing problems and damages.
  • Provide back up to collectors as needed.
  • Upload daily lockbox checks/ACH in credit drive.
  • Review and approve price adjustments/credits and rebills.
  • Review NSF checks to be billed.
  • Assist in training new hires.
  • Responsible for end of day cut off process/making sure all orders are released and called down to Transportation.
  • Assist with turning over accounts to 3rd party collections/Lawyer.
  • Assist in approving credit apps as needed.
  • Interact with other departments in a professional and friendly manner.
  • Other duties as assigned by the Regional Credit and Collections Manager.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Bachelor’s degree; concentration in Accounting/Finance preferred.
  • Previous experience as an analyst a plus.
  • Proven ability to multi-task.
  • Minimum three (5) years of experience in the field of commercial credit and collections.
  • Must be skilled in verbal and written communication.
  • Advanced skills using Microsoft Word & Excel; proficient mail merge knowledge required.
