We primarily serve the Department of Defense (DOD) and military operations to provide the highest casting service. Our Specialty Product Division is seeking a dedicated individual to join our team. Position Overview: The Saw Cutting Operator is responsible of sawing test blocks into test bars/blanks, and machine test specimens in accordance with drawings, specifications, and release forms provided by the Metallurgical Laboratory. This will be achieved with safety as a priority and to realize standard cost while upholding our quality and delivery requirements.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Read and follow drawings, release forms, work instructions and procedures provided with minimal oversight to saw test blocks as required
  • Cut test blocks using metal cutting band saw and machine tools as required
  • Follow all identification and labeling processes required in order to maintain full specimen traceability
  • Keep test blocks organized and neat, maintaining all specimen and remnant traceability
  • Machine test bars/blanks into final specimen shape in accordance with all dimension and identification requirements
  • Complete all required documentation and inter-department communication to aid traceability and work flow
  • Keep work area clean
  • Alert supervisor to any safety or quality issues needing attention
  • Alert supervisor to any maintenance needs
  • Recommend process improvements
  • Participate in special activities, projects, and programs in order to support Bradken’s safety, quality, and productivity goals
  • Other duties as assigned or requested
Pay Range: $21.97-$28.68 (Depending on experience)
Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
Qualifications:
  • Prefer High School Diploma
  • Basic computer skills: Microsoft Excel, Word Doc. preferred
Experience:
  • Previous manufacturing experience
  • Basic knowledge of CNC machines is preferred
  • Previous metal cutting tools experience is preferred
Skills and Knowledge:
  • Knowledgeable in blue print reading
  • Able to read and interpret work instructions and requirements/specification
  • Ability to follow verbal and written instructions
  • Understand and use of precision inspections tools such as micrometers, indicators, and scales
  • Strong math skills
  • Ability to work independently with limited supervision
  • Self-motivation and able to prioritize tasks and be self-directed

Physical Requirements:
  • Must be able to use arms, hands, legs, and feet in repetitive motions
  • Must be able to twist, stoop, bend, and stand in the performance of job duties
  • Must be able to wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds occasionally
  • Must have good vision and depth perception
  • Must be able to pass forklift and crane testing
  • Must be able to withstand high-heat working conditions
