Teton Petroleum Transport (TPT) is currently seeking a Mechanic. This role will provide daily preventative and corrective maintenance on our fleet of trucks and trailers. TPT delivers fuel to over 40 states for a variety of customers and industries.
The Mechanic will primarily be focused on:
Perform PM inspections and make necessary repairs on trucks and trailers.
Keep all assigned vehicle maintenance files current including all DOT compliance-related documentation for mechanical work performed on transport vehicles.
Perform or coordinate emergency maintenance, breakdown repairs on fleet vehicles.
Repair work on brakes, axle, electrical, air system, suspension, tank trailer safety systems such as Scully and Civacon overfill protection systems.
Perform routine brake inspections/adjustments on commercial vehicles following federal DOT requirements.
Create work orders on repairs and services providing legible and accurate information for work performed.
Coordinate with location supervisor and review pre-trip truck inspections to prioritize work accordingly.
Operate and inspect equipment to diagnose defects.
Adhere to all applicable safety policies, procedures, and standards.
The preferred candidate for the Mechanic will have the following:
One or more years tanker mechanic experience.
Ability to troubleshoot trailer ABS using Wabco software.
Ability to repair overfill protection systems.
Possess a valid Class A CDL with Hazmat endorsement.
Acceptable driving record.
Must be able to perform suspension, brake repairs, wheel seals, electrical lighting installation and repairs, reconditioning valves, pneumatic systems.
Knowledge of tools, equipment, and methods necessary to complete tasks.
