RESULTS STATEMENT

The Snow Removal Technician safely uses various equipment to ensure that snow and ice are removed from sidewalks and curb lines, beyond the clients’ expectations.

TACTICAL WORK

• Accurately records hours worked in Aspire
• Reviews Battle Board for daily assignments
• Daily monitors GroupMe, and promptly responds to requests for work
• Attends and contributes at morning muster and other meetings, providing feedback on efficiency concerns
• Reviews visit notes for every assigned property, asking for clarification when needed
• Quickly and efficiently cleans sidewalks using snowrators, backpack blowers, shovels, ice-melt, etc.
• Pushes sidewalks edge to edge, making grass visible and curbside open
• Pushes curbs five feet out if lot has not been plowed, or to the nearest snow storage location if it has already been plowed
• When applicable, spreads ice melt at the application rate according to SOP
• Cleans dumpster corrals and handicapped parking of snow
• Safely operates equipment without damaging customer, public or BSS property and wears reflective clothing when needed (BSS provides vests upon request)
• Uses various equipment, such as snowrator, to ensure the route is complete to company standards
• Proactively maintains equipment to avoid breakdowns
• Promptly reports malfunctioning equipment to Shovel Crew Leader who completes Mechanical Order Request Form
• Exhibits willingness to work on any company crew (BSS prefers and provides opportunities for year-round employment)

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

• Age 16 or older - see http://erd.dli.mt.gov/labor-standards/child-labor-law/child-labor-law-reference-guide
• Reliable transportation to work to help maintain a pristine attendance record
• Ability to work a flexible winter schedule, (hours may begin 3am on snow days, with a guaranteed 2 days off per week)
• Ability to work long hours if over the age of 18
• Legal, valid, driver's license is preferred but not required (BSS reserves the right to modify jobs pending the results of employee driving history verification)

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS and WORKING CONDITIONS

• Climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing for long periods of time, running and walking, sitting, pushing, pulling
• Lifting and raising objects up to 50 pounds from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position, to a considerable degree and requires substantial use of upper extremities and back muscles
