Boys Town is Hiring an Education Training Instructor, On Call Near Omaha, NE

Trains one or more types of Education Training Workshops including, but not limited to, Well-Managed Schools, Administrative Intervention, Specialized Classroom Management, Safe and Healthy Secondary Schools and Teaching Social Skills in Schools. Prepares for the class, tracks attendance, coaches participants, and submits required reports and materials according to established timelines.MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:Oversees class management and performance related to Education Training Workshops.
  • Coordinates, monitors, and presents Education Training Workshops.
  • Travels to contracted sites to conduct training and to consult with or observe staff.
  • Completes all administrative reports and collects all required paperwork from the participants within the specified time period. Reports may include, but are not limited to, attendance rosters, expense reports, trip reports, and participant course evaluation forms.
  • Establishes and maintains a safe and productive learning environment (i.e., role-plays, question-and-answer sessions).
  • Reviews survey responses to improve presentations.
  • Coaches educators effectively to apply course content.
  • Accurately models Boys Town Education Model Interactions during training and coaching.
  • Maintains all equipment and supplies in good condition.
  • Positively represents the organization and promotes services to schools and agencies.
  • Maintains and communicates information to others regarding education training options and events.
Maintains current credentials and on-going trainer development.
  • Successfully presents key model components and maintains Boys Town's Training of Trainers and/or Authorization courses prior to delivering training.
  • Maintains teaching and training credentials.
  • Participates in credentialing and program evaluation activities including recording or direct observation of training sessions.
  • Participates with supervisor in active self-development as a trainer to support participant growth.
  • Completes required professional development workshops.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
  • Ability to conduct training with adult learners.
  • Ability to comfortably utilize a collaborative approach to teaching and learning.
  • Ability to model and evaluate Boys Town Education Model Interactions.
  • While training others, ability to incorporate examples of experience utilizing the Boys Town Education Model in a classroom environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex material translated into useable form to educate and improve educators' skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with diverse groups of people.
  • Strong planning and organizational skills.
  • Culturally competent to work with very diverse groups of participants.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Education or related field required.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience implementing the Boys Town Model required.
  • Current driver's license required.
  • Able to provide own transportation to local training events required.
  • Able to provide own transportation to airport when overnight offsite travel occurs required.
  • Available to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends required.
  • Ability to travel frequently and for extended periods of time required.
  • Current and up-to-date teaching certificate OR Master's degree OR accreditation by the Council of Accreditation from Teacher Education OR accreditation from National Association of School Psychologists OR accreditation from the American Psychological Association OR an up-to-date Boys Town Trainer Authorization required.
