LOCATION: Bridgeport, CT
POSITION SUMMARY: The coordinator is responsible for oversight and effective implementation of all policies, processes, and procedures to ensure safe and therapeutic milieu in STAR. The coordinator oversees the day-to-day operations and staff. They provide direct supervision of mentors directly ensuring that processes are occurring as per policy, state, and federal regulations.
- Oversees and responsible for the implementation of processes/procedures to ensure a safe, therapeutic trauma informed and developmentally appropriate milieu, ensuring compliance with related licensing requirements and supports program quality initiatives.
- Flexes schedule at times to provide supervision and oversight to all shifts.
- Supervises milieu program staff including mentors.
- Coordinate and ensures that all safety checklists regarding the facility are completed and any issues that need to be addressed are done.
- Manage critical and emergency events while on duty and ensure there are effective workflows when not on duty to effectively manage crisis. Carries cell phone to respond/available to all program related crises.
- Able to effectively utilize agency EHR, for purposes of program documentation and data requirement. Client record documentation is completed timely and appropriate to client’s treatment needs.
- Leads weekly staff meetings.
- Completes camera observations at least once per week to ensure that staff are appropriately engaging and supervising clients and use observations to provide ongoing feedback to encourage overall improvement.

- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or related field, or 2 -3 year of residential experience and training
- Experience managing a therapeutic congregate care or equivalent program
PURPOSE/FUNCTION OF THE PROGRAM:
The Short-Term Assessment & Respite Home (STAR) program is a 6-bed group home for males ages 11 to 18 years of age. The purpose of this program is to provide short-term care, assessment, and a range of clinical and nursing services to children removed from their homes due to abuse, neglect or other high-risk circumstances. Staff provide empathic professional care for youth within a routine of daily clinical and educational activities. The youth will receive assessment, substance abuse screening, educational support, and intensive work to engage the family.
