Boys Girls Haven is Hiring a Clinical Therapist - Residential Near Louisville, KY

Core Schedule:

Primary is 9-5:30; however hours may vary based on needs of program

Salary Range is from $50,000-$55,000 depending on experience

Role Summary: This position has the responsibility of performing all duties assigned by the Clinical Supervisor. Clinical Therapist will provide evidence-based, clinical interventions to help clients meet treatment goals and achieve positive outcomes. The therapist will serve clients primarily in the residential setting. However, at times family sessions or other therapeutic needs arise that could lead to services outside of the residential facility. Therapist will teach, model and advocate for best trauma inform practices to be performed in the residential setting with clients.

Essential Functions: In addition to the expectations outlined in Boys & Girls Haven’s (BGH) policies, procedures, and clinical protocols, essential functions include the following:

  1. Provide evidence-based, behavioral health services in accordance with applicable policies, procedures, and regulations.
  2. Provide services tailored to each client’s needs, challenges, strengths, lifestyle, and culture, utilizing a trauma-focused perspective.
  3. Be responsive to clients’ needs; When possible, conduct sessions at times that align their schedules
  4. Assist the client in reaching identified goals by providing appropriate and effective clinical interventions
  5. Develop crisis plans and assist in implementation with support staff
  6. Develop an aftercare plan with the client prior to case closure to help maintain progress towards treatment goals
  7. Refer clients for additional services as needed
  8. Will provide individual therapy and group therapy weekly, family therapy as needed
  9. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner
  10. Participate in clinical and programmatic supervision as required by the program and the licensing board
  11. Ensure confidentiality of all client information
  12. Meet all trainings requirements established by the agency and the applicable licensing board.

Unplanned Activities: At BGH, we value teamwork. To meet departmental and organizational goals, the employee is expected to assist with activities that are not formal parts of the role’s essential functions.

Qualifications:

  1. Education - Graduate degree from a related field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy) from an accredited program.
  1. Licensure – Active clinical license (e.g., CSW, LCSW, MFTA, LMFT, LPCA, LPCC) with an approved supervision contract (if applicable).
  1. Experience/Credentials – Two years’ experience providing mental health services to children, teens, adults, and/or families.
  1. Transportation – Must have a valid driver’s license, vehicle, and active auto insurance.
  1. Other - Interact professionally with BGH employees, clients, visitors, government agencies and the public. Maintain confidentiality of all client information. Must be at least 21 years of age and legally able to work in U.S. Successful completion of all background screenings and pre-employment drug screen. Successful negative, post-contingent offer and annual TB screenings.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: stand, walk and sit; use hands to manually manipulate, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl; talk and hear; taste or smell. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Ability to read, write and converse in English. This position requires frequent travel across a regional service area.

Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to a standard administrative office environment as well as clients’ homes and community-based environments such as schools. S/he will encounter BGH clients, staff members, Board members, volunteers, and other members of the community.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
