WE NEED CREATIVE, PATIENT, OUTGOING AND CARING INDIVIDUALS TO WORK WITH KIDS IN BOYS & GIRLS CLUBS SUMMER PROGRAM. WE SERVE ALL SCHOOL-AGE KIDDOS IN A FAST-PACED, FUN ENVIRONMENT.

THE SUMMER PROGRAM WILL BE IN SESSION JUNE THROUGH AUGUST, 6:30AM - 5:30 PM. SHIFTS ARE FIVE HOURS PER DAY, MONDAY THROUGH FRIDAY. AFTERNOON SHIFTS AND SOME MORNING SHIFTS ARE AVAILABLE. DEPENDABILITY IS A MUST.

THIS OPPORTUNITY COULD LEAD TO WORKING DURING THE SCHOOL YEAR IF SO DESIRED.

Boys & Girls Clubs provide a safe place for kids to go after school and in the Summer time. Our aim is to improve the lives of kids by providing fun & innovative programming, opportunity, and a safe place for kids. We focus on the areas of character and leadership, academic success and healthy lifestyles.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACTIVITIES: (not all-inclusive)

• Create an environment that facilitates the achievement of Youth Development Outcomes.
• Ensure engagement, promote and stimulate participation and attendance of youth enrolled in the program.
• Establish rapport with youth and provide mentoring, guidance, role modeling to members and overall direction for their leadership development, artistic skills, physical activity engagement and academic progress.
• Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities.
• Monitor and evaluate programs, services and activities to ensure the safety of members, quality in programs and appearance of the club at all times.
• Engaging members in activities successfully and provide a safe environment for members.
• Support members emotional and social development, encouraging understanding of others and positive self-concepts.
• Plan and facilitate purposeful and engaging activities and group projects.
• Submit lesson plans, attendance sheets and other administrative duties on a regular basis.
• Ensure a productive work environment by participating in trainings and staff meetings.
• Maintain close, daily contact with Club staff, Club members and supervisor to receive/provide information, and discuss issues.
• Mandatory cleaning and closing of program area daily.

The Youth Development Professional is responsible for providing direct supervision to school-age youth. Providing a fun environment and playing with kids is one of the perks of the job. You would be responsible for assisting in the planning and implementation of programs and activities while helping to create a fun Club environment.

REQUIREMENTS:

• Strict confidentiality.
• Punctuality and dependability IS A MUST.
• A high school diploma or GED.
• Certification in 1st Aid/CPR is required, training will be provided by the Club.
• Experience working with youth either in a paid or volunteer capacity is preferred but not required.
• MUST BE ABLE TO ATTEND MANDATORY ORIENTATION AND TRAININGS.
• MUST BE ABLE TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG TEST AND BACKGROUND SCREENING.
