Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County is Hiring a LSCW, Social Worker Near Greeley, CO

Boys & Girls Clubs of Weld County’s mission is to inspire and enable all young people,

POSITION TITLE: LSCW, Social Worker

CLUB/OFFICE LOCATION: 2400 1st Ave, Greeley, CO 80631

DEPARTMENT: Child Safety

REPORTS TO: Director of People, Culture & Safety

Full-Time/Exempt

Summary: The Social Worker provides therapeutic and behavioral support for members to promote success in the Club, school, home and community. Integrating a social and emotional lens to their work, the Social Worker provides impactful individual and group therapy, case management, consultation, crisis intervention, grief support, and referral work. The Social Worker will work collaboratively with Club staff, and, when necessary, other public entities who support the child and connects the family to any and all appropriate care. The Social Worker will effectively manage a caseload and clinical documentation while adhering to an evidence-based practice framework to manage and encourage progress for Club Members. The Social Worker will be an active member of the local Club staff team and serve as a solution-oriented and collaborative leader.

Work Environment: The Boys & Girls Clubs environment is a fast-paced and fun place for kids ages 6-18. Our members opt-in to various meaningful activities in our Five Core Program Areas (Service & Leadership, Sports & Recreation, Health & Wellness, Education, and The Arts). The Clubs are open after school during the academic year, and from 8am-5:30pm for 9 weeks in the summer. Hundreds of kids fill our Clubs and are looking for a safe place to engage with peers, receive a healthy meal, and have FUN. To be impactful in this setting, the Social Worker must be flexible, able to work with kids in a variety of settings, work collaboratively with a team of Club employees, react quickly to stressful situations, briefly cover various rooms if needed, interact positively with kids and families of all backgrounds, and maintain an emotionally positive environment for kids.

The Social Worker will have the following knowledge and skills:

  • Strong passion for and experience working with youth and families.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and motivation to work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team in a youth-serving setting.
  • Knowledge and appreciation for client populations’ cultural, religious, ethnic, and social systems in interactions, care planning, and education.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to respond to feedback and incorporate it into practice.
  • Performs in accordance with evidence-based clinical framework; achieves high standards of care and application of clinical policies and procedures for all clients and Club members.
  • Knowledge of crisis intervention and risk assessment with ability to respond to trauma or psychiatric emergencies.
  • Skill in providing care appropriate to the age of the clients served within the clinic setting. Skill in establishing a therapeutic alliance and engaging the client in collaborative goal setting and prioritizing client needs.
  • Has experience and skill using youth-focused curriculums on topics including but not limited to: anxiety, depression & suicide, LGBTQ issues, healthy relationships, grief, substance use, domestic violence, gang-related conflict, general stress and bullying.
  • Familiarity with community resources available to clients.
  • Ability to maintain professional boundaries and confidentiality of patients' records.
  • Skill in establishing a treatment alliance and engaging the client system in goal setting and prioritizing.
  • Ability to manage the dynamic and fast-paced nature of the Boys & Girls Clubs environment.
  • *Bilingual English/Spanish strongly preferred. Additional responsibilities include:
  • May provide clinical supervision for MSW student-interns who are in the Club.
  • Integrates training and support regarding behavior management best-practices for other Club staff as needed.
  • Participates in ongoing clinical supervision and staff meetings.
  • Ongoing administrative duties including maintaining thorough and professional progress notes, termination plans, and communication with families, BGCWC staff and community partners.

Job Requirements:

  • Master’s Degree in Social Work from a CSWE accredited college or university. LCSW Licensure required.
  • Minimum of 2 years work experience in behavior intervention, youth development, small group facilitation, and/or case management.
  • Candidates must be able to pass a drug test that includes screening for marijuana, criminal and driving records investigations, and reference checks.
  • The successful candidate will primarily work indoors. Accordingly, the ability to use a variety of equipment including janitorial and office equipment is required. The job requires the ability to stand for extended periods, kneel, reach, bend, and lift objects weighing in excess of 25lbs. Outdoor work and moderate physically demanding activities may be required on occasion. The ability to read and write is necessary to complete reports, properly document program, and organizational data.
  • A valid driver's license and ability to be insured under the company's insurance required.

Compensation & Benefits

Base Salary Range: $62,000 – $72,000
Generous vacation/sick time off, plus:

  • 100% employer paid medical, dental, vision coverage, life insurance, AD&D* 
    • Quarterly 401K employer contribution equivalent to 10% of base salary*

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT: Ability to work in a fast-paced, chaotic and loud environment. Ability to continuously stand or walk. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds occasionally.
