Come make a difference in the Sioux Falls community!

Our Site Coordinators are responsible for everything that happens at their after school program location from curriculum planning to supervising the Youth Development Specialists. Each Site Coordinator has an incredible opportunity to shape the lives of the kids that we serve and make a lasting difference in their development. Join our team and discover the power of your impact and the tangible difference you can make in our community.

These are some of the things our Site Coordinators do:

  • Plan and implement engaging and age-appropriate activities for students, including games, arts and crafts, sports, and educational projects.
  • Support and guide students in developing positive social skills, promoting teamwork, respect, and inclusion among participants.
  • Provide supervision and direction to the Youth Development Specialists at the location, creating and maintaining a positive and inclusive atmosphere that fosters personal and academic growth for students.
  • Ensure the students we serve are learning positive behaviors, providing guidance and appropriate corrective action when needed.
  • Accompany and supervise students on field trips and off-site events, ensuring their safety, well-being, and engagement.
  • Maintain a safe environment by being alert to the needs and problems of individual students and responding to urgent situations when needed.

This is what the schedule looks like:

  • This role is typically part time with shifts from 2:30pm-6:00pm Monday to Friday. Late start times may be available depending on the location.
  • This role can easily be combined with other duties and responsibilities within our organization to create a full time role.
  • We run after school programs in the following elementary schools:
  • Brandon Valley School District: Brandon Elementary, Fred Assam, Robert Bennis, and Inspiration.
  • Sioux Falls School District: Anne Sullivan, Eugene Field, Harvey Dunn, Laura B. Anderson, Rosa Parks, and Susan B. Anthony.
  • Harrisburg School District: Adventure, Explorer, and Journey.
  • We prefer our staff to have consistent schedules and we are closed nights and weekends – having a life outside of work is important!

Here’s what we can offer for pay and benefits:

  • Starting pay for this role is $17.00 per hour.
  • Discounted childcare rates for dependents are available. All full time employees are eligible for a 65% tuition discount. Based on household income and household size, employees may also be eligible for our general scholarship program, which covers up to 100% of the cost.
  • We offer a wide variety of benefits including four different medical plan options, dental, vision, 401(k) with a matching program, employer paid life insurance, voluntary life insurance, short-term and long-term disability plans, and more! Eligibility requirements must be met which is based on number of hours worked per week.
  • Employees working 25 hours a week are eligible for paid time off, which starts on day one and has no waiting period.
  • All of our employees have access to a local Sioux Falls based discount portal with many savings opportunities. Discounts can include automotive care, clothing, fitness centers, home improvement, hotels, jewelry, mortgages and realtors, photographers, recreation, restaurants, and more!

We have some great trainers that can teach you a lot, but there are a few things we look for in our Site Coordinators:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills are important when working with kids.
  • Reliability is essential – the kids in our programs depend on our Site Coordinators to be on time and have good attendance, because the quality of our programming and their care is not the same when our team isn't there.
  • Must be able to provide direction and supervision to other staff members working within the location.
  • Previous education, training, or knowledge of early childhood development best practices and behaviors is preferred.
  • A valid CPR certification or the ability to obtain and maintain CPR certification within 90 days of employment is required. CPR training and certification is provided in-house by Boys & Girls Clubs of the Sioux Empire.
