TITLE: The CLUB Teen Center Program Director

PERFORMANCE PROFILE SOURCE: Management Professional

DEPARTMENT: Program/Operations

REPORTS TO: Chief Operations Officer

FLSA STATUS: Exempt

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Directs and manages overall daily operations of The CLUB Teen Center with an emphasis on a comprehensive, outcome-driven program that offers a high standard of customer service. This position will offer supervision and training of staff (direct and indirect reports), manage facility environment and utilization, engage in community relations, and oversee membership attendance, growth and retention. The Program Director will advise and assist the Teen Club Coordinator in the areas of volunteer recruitment and management, facility management, personnel issues, budget, and program development.

KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):

Leadership

1. Provide leadership and direction to the Teen Club Coordinator in the overall management of The CLUB Teen Center.

2. Recruit, select, manage, and provide career development opportunities for staff and volunteers. Conduct and attend regular staff meetings.

3. Ensure an environment that facilitates achievement of Youth Development Outcomes, with the overall responsibility for providing a space that is clean, welcoming, aesthetically pleasing, and ensures the safety of the youth, property, and equipment.

Strategic Planning

4. Ensure the development and implementation of a strategic planning process for The CLUB Teen Center, including the development of annual program objectives.

5. Ensure quality improvement of programs by conducting program evaluations and annual written analysis of member needs and interests. Analyzes monthly statistical reports reflecting all activities, attendance and participation. Utilize the CQI Process to strengthen and grow programs.

6. Encourage and support effective board roles and functions as requested.

Resource Development

7. Manage financial resources and participate in the development of annual budgets. Control expenditures against budget, provide approval for expenditures to purchase supplies and equipment, while being a good steward of BGCRRV funds as well as funder requests.

8. Ensure administrative and operational systems are in place, oversee the maintenance and operation of the physical property and equipment of The CLUB - including use of facilities by outside groups in collaboration with the Facilities & Transportation Manager.

9. Ensure all grants/donations are implemented and funds are allocated in a manner that honors the donor’s intent.

Partnership Development

10. Develop collaborative partnerships with public, civic groups, and social agencies within the community. Represent the organization in a positive and professional manner while sharing its objectives, standards, and programs.

Marketing and Public Relations

11. Develop and maintain public relations with an emphasis on promoting and stimulating membership within The CLUB. Collaborate with Marketing and Communications Manager by providing publicity for programs and services within The CLUB and community.

RELATIONSHIPS:

Internal: Maintain close, daily contact with professional staff to interpret and explain organizational mission, program objectives and standards, discuss issues, and provide/receive information. Interact with The CLUB members as needed to discipline, advise, and counsel.

External: Maintain contact with external community groups, and schools to promote The CLUB Teen Center. Engage with members' parents and others to assist with conflict resolution, when necessary.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE PREFERRED:

· Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, or equivalent experience.

· Preferred work experience in a Boys & Girls Club or similar organization planning and supervising activities based on the developmental needs of young people, with an additional two years experience at the management level, or equivalent experience.

· Demonstrated ability with key leadership.

· Demonstrated ability in personnel supervision, facilities design and utilization, and the recruitment and retention of key personnel.

· Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.

· Ability to recruit, train, supervise, and motivate staff.

· Ability to work effectively with members’ disciplinary issues.

· Working knowledge of budget preparation, control, and management.

· Demonstrated leadership skills.

· Experience in Project Management

· CPR and First Aid Certifications or willingness to achieve

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

· The role requires the ability to remain in a stationary position for approximately 50% of the time.

· Occasionally, there will be a need to move supplies within the program setting, with weights of up to 30 pounds.

· While the majority of work will take place indoors, there may be occasions where outdoor and community environments are part of the job requirements.

Pay: $62,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
