Boys & Girls Clubs of the Coastal Plain is Hiring an Infrastructure and Security Specialist Near Winterville, NC

Role Overview: 
Under the general direction of the Senior VP of IT and Facilities, the Infrastructure and Security Specialist plays a crucial role in managing and safeguarding the organization's IT infrastructure. This part-time position, approximately 20-25 hours a week, focuses on hardware, software, network components, and emphasizes the implementation of IT security best practices. The specialist ensures the stability, security, and optimal performance of the IT environment. 
As an Infrastructure and Security Specialist, your work will directly impact the mission of the Boys and Girls Club by ensuring a secure and stable IT environment. Imagine optimizing our network infrastructure to guarantee uninterrupted access to educational resources for children. By implementing advanced security measures, you'll create a digital space where young minds can explore, learn, and connect in a safe online environment. Key Responsibilities: 
  • Oversee the installation, configuration, and maintenance of hardware and software systems under the general direction of the Senior VP of IT and Facilities. 
  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure, including Cisco Meraki components, to ensure seamless connectivity. 
  • Collaborate with the Managed Service Provider (MSP) for infrastructure-related services. 
  • Implement and enforce robust security measures, emphasizing industry-standard security best practices. 
  • Conduct regular system audits to identify areas for improvement. 
  • Provide technical support and troubleshooting for infrastructure-related issues. 
  • Keep track of monitoring inventory of all hardware, including servers, desktops, laptops, chrome books, iPads, firewalls, access points, and network switches. 
  • Reconcile hardware inventory records and update as needed. 
  • Plan for the phasing out of old hardware once they reach end-of-life. 
  • Assist with projecting the costs of hardware replacement year over year. 
  • Stay updated on emerging technologies and recommend upgrades as needed. 
  • Assist in strategic planning for future infrastructure enhancements. 
  • Provide help desk support for end users. 
  • Provide technical support for special events and fund-raising events as needed. 
 Qualifications: 
  • Proven experience in managing IT infrastructure in a professional setting. 
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and networking technologies. 
  • Familiarity with networking components is highly desirable. 
  • Demonstrated expertise in implementing and maintaining IT security best practices. 
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication skills. 
Preferred Qualifications: 
  • Bachelor’s degree in information technology, Computer Science, or related field. 
  • CompTIA A , Security , or other equivalent certifications.
