Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley is Hiring a Program Specialist-STEAM Near Columbus, GA

Program Specialists-STEAM

Starting Pay is $10/hr (22.5 hours per week)

**All applicants must complete background screening and drug test before being hired**

Primary function:

To assist the program director with programs and activities in the assigned area. including instruction and supervision.

Key Roles:

  • To develop, plan, implement and evaluate program goals and objectives in close cooperation with the program director. These goals and objectives will be consistent with the established standards, philosophy and purpose of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Chattahoochee Valley
  • Create, initiate, and conduct programs and activities that fit the needs of the youth.
  • To submit requests for needed supplies to the program director
  • To plan, organize implement and evaluate programs in the assigned areas

Additional responsibilities

  • To assist in the upkeep of equipment and supplies, and to assist in the maintenance of the facility.
  • Assist in the maintenance of the physical properties.
  • Chart all activities daily.
  • Department facilities and equipment maintained in a clean orderly and safe environment on a daily basis. Inventory kept current.
  • Other duties as otherwise delegated

Relationships:

Internal: Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisors to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.

External: Maintains contact with members and parents as required.

SKILLS/KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of 1-year full time experience in a Boys & Girls Club or related field is preferred.
  • Competent in the delivery of Youth Development Programs.
  • Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems.
  • Ability to deal with the public.
  • Ability to plan and implement quality programs for youth.
  • Ability to organize and supervise members in a safe environment.
  • Valid State Drivers License (if age applicable)
  • Excellent verbal and oral communication skills are required.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: From $10.00 per hour
