The Boys & Girls Clubs of Schenectady is looking for Lifeguards for the summer season to help oversee the outdoor pools in Schenectady.

The summer season runs Monday- Friday, June 22th 2024 till Aug 25th 2024.

*Mandatory training required prior to summer season.

Primary Responsibilities:

Assist all waterfront staff with daily routines and provide a safe environment at the swimming pool.

Identify potential accidents/hazards.

Be alert or prevent accidents (risk management)

Implement and enforce all health and safety procedures at pool

Administer first aid and/or CPR as required

General life guard duties, maintenance of pool and pool area.

Secondary Responsibilities:

Facilitate public relations in a positive and professional manner

Be available to substitute for other staff members

Attend all weekly in-service trainings

Qualifications:

· Must be at least 15 years of age.

· Physically able.

· Current valid lifeguard certification.

· Current C.P.R., First Aid and AED certification.

*Organization does offer Lifeguard Course (Must be 15 years old) and Recertification courses for both lifeguard and CPR.
