The Boys & Girls Clubs of Providence, in partnership with Providence Public Schools and MENTOR Rhode Island, will host a summer program for approximately 30 middle school youth who are unhoused. The program is based at our Wanskuck Branch on Branch Avenue in Providence. Training begins the week of June 24, 2024. Program Assistants must be available through mid-August.
Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 AM to 2:00 PM (30 hours/week). Program starts with staff training during the week of June 24, and runs through mid-August.
Payrate: $17/hour (two positions available)
Supervisor: Program Manager
General Description
Program Assistants help provide a fun, welcoming and supportive environment for 30 middle school teens who are experiencing homelessness. Activities include recreation, swimming, arts, games, field trips, educational activities, mentoring with MENTOR RI volunteers, and more. Program Assistants are positive role models who help youth make positive choices about peer interactions, use of free time, communication skills, education, money management, nutrition, social media, and trying new things.
