Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South is Hiring a Youth Development Coordinator-Childcare Near Brockton, MA

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Metro South is hiring a Youth Development Coordinator for our Out of School Time Team in our Brockton Clubhouse!

The Youth Development Coordinator is responsible for developing and facilitating programs for youth in various settings that enhance and support personal youth development. The Youth Development Coordinator can be expected to plan and lead a variety of activities within a specific program area, such as Education, The Arts, Health & Wellness, Workforce Readiness, Character & Leadership, and Sports & Recreation. All Youth Development Coordinators serve as Club drivers for various essential Club transportation programs and are responsible for daily driving requirements in service to Club programs.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • One year of supervised work experience in a youth/out-of-school time setting; this can be reduced to 9 months with a associates/bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum of 21 years of age and in possession of a valid MA driver’s license for a minimum of 3 years and a driving record suitable for insurance application.
  • Valid Massachusetts class 7D transportation license or willingness to obtain within 30 days of employment.
  • Ability to effectively interact with children on a range of issues and the perspective to support diversity, equity, and inclusion of all.
  • Demonstrated ability to make mature judgments in difficult situations.
  • Willingness to display professionalism, wear a uniform, and be respectful and compliant with all Club policies and procedures.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Plan, organize, and execute youth programs and activities that cater to the interests and developmental needs of young people within the community.
  • Train and assist in supervision of volunteers and Youth Development Associates who work within the youth programs, ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to support and mentor young participants effectively.
  • Responsible for classroom management and implementation of daily lesson plans.
  • Actively communicate with other staff to ensure safety within the Club environment
  • Contribute to ensuring the facilities, equipment, and supplies are maintained
  • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of youth programs, gathering feedback from participants and stakeholders to make informed improvements. Responsible for data collection and record-keeping on program attendance and metrics.
  • Ensure a safe and inclusive environment for all youth participants, implementing policies and procedures that protect their well-being and promote respect among all individuals.
  • Responsible for care and safety of Club vehicles include pre/post reporting, safety inspections, and attendance tracking.
  • Provide safe, timely transportation to and from Club sites as prescribed by Club Leadership Staff.
  • Supervise and monitor youth riders on Club transportation.
  • Participate in promoting, and enforcing of established ground rules and the Clubs Core Values.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Monday - Friday 12:30 p.m. - 6:30 p.m = 30 hours per week
