TITLE: Director of TEEN Engagement and Advocacy

POSITION SUMMARY
The Director of TEEN Engagement and Advocacy is entrusted with spearheading Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington’s multifaceted TEEN engagement strategy. This pivotal role involves designing and implementing comprehensive TEEN programs focused on fostering equity, education, and leadership development. The Director will also champion the Zirkin Youth Advocates, enabling them to advocate for impactful policies and represent the TEEN community's perspective in the DMV and beyond. The Director will oversee the TEEN Services Academy (TSA), which is centered on loving, leading, and liberating TEENS through improved, high-level engagement strategies and practices.
This position's vision aligns with the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington's Achieving Dreams Strategic Plan 2021-2025. The plan calls for growing teen programming in both scope and complexity. BGCGW will increase teen participation and engagement in support of our organizational strategic plan, and under the leadership of the Director of Teen Programming & Advocacy, BGCGW will develop programming that will produce citizens and future leaders whose character development and life skills are contemporary and critical in the 21st century while providing educational enrichment to meet the needs of our globally competitive economy.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Support the implementation of BGCGW's TEEN Recruitment Plan aimed at increasing teen participation through the development and delivery of impactful and high-quality programming, events, and initiatives for TEEN community.
2. Empower Zirkin Youth Advocates/BGCGW Fellows to champion teen causes and represent their interests to internal and external stakeholders.
3. Establish platforms for teen voices in research and advocacy to influence policymakers.
4. Lead and enhance existing BGCGW Teen programming, including career readiness initiatives.
5. Cultivate critical skills among teens, emphasizing public speaking and emotional intelligence.
6. Collaborate with stakeholders to promote justice and equity for teens served by BGCGW.
7. Serve as a Consultant and Thought Leader for Teen Engagement, integrating specialized programs and initiatives.
8. Coordinate with Grants and Finance Departments to ensure compliance with TEEN-focused grant programs.
9. Evaluate programming effectiveness and conduct needs assessments to align with teen interests.
10. Develop a comprehensive TEEN Services Learning and Development Strategy, integrating diverse training modules and workshops, with rigorous quality control measures to optimize program impact.
TEEN Services Learning and Development Strategy:
As the Director of TEEN Engagement and Advocacy, you will also be responsible for leading the development and execution of the TEEN Services Learning and Development Strategy, including the establishment and management of the TEEN Services Academy (TSA). This strategic focus is critical in driving the organization's commitment to delivering impactful and high-quality programming for the TEEN community.
Responsibilities:
1. Lead the execution and management of the TEEN Services Academy (TSA), ensuring alignment with recruitment and engagement strategies, fostering continuous improvement and innovation.
2. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement targeted initiatives meeting diverse learning needs within the TEEN Services department.
3. Conduct regular assessments to evaluate the effectiveness of learning initiatives, providing actionable insights for refinement, while also mentoring and supporting the TEEN Services team for professional growth and knowledge exchange. Measuring Impact: The success of this role will be evaluated through metrics, including increased teen participation, improved skill development outcomes for TEEN Directors ( and TEEN supporting staff), successful community partnerships, grant management, and advocacy efforts leading to positive changes for the youth.

Company Overview: Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Washington was established in 1886 as the Newsboys and Children's Aid Society . In the early 1900's, the Working Boys Home and Aide Association replaced this organization and enlarged the scope of service to neighborhood boys. With the support of the Rot...ary Club of Washington, D.C., a board of trustees was established and the name changed to Boys Clubs of Washington. In 1973, Boys Clubs of Washington began serving girls as full and equal members.
