Do you have the desire to teach youth about health and wellness? Are you interested in teaching without being tied to the classroom all day? We have the perfect position as a Prevention Educator for you!
The Prevention Educator works within the Prevention Services Department of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater Tarrant County. The goal of the Prevention Services Department is to equip and empower youth and communities with the knowledge and skills to attain overall social, emotional, and mental well-being. The Prevention Educator will help us work towards this goal by implementing an evidence-based curriculum for youth between the ages of 5-18, as well as designing and facilitating community presentations on a variety of topics including (but not limited to): drug education/prevention, bullying education/prevention, managing emotions, coping skills, mindfulness, social skills, etc.
The goal of prevention services programs is to promote healthy choices and healthy lifestyle such as providing youth skills for managing emotions, communicating effectively, making positive choices, countering social influences, refusing peer pressure and the like.
