Location: One of Boys & Girls Clubs Early Childhood Program sites
Job Summary: Responsible for the daily oversight of Boys & Girls Clubs Early Childhood Program site for children 12 months to 5 years old. Design, plan and oversee the implementation of a developmentally appropriate, culturally sensitive early childhood education program through staff meetings, trainings and on-going planning with staff and supervisors.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Plan and oversee the administration of the site including early childhood environment and developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports the mission
Establish program objectives, consistent with organizational goals and mission
Oversee the provision of day to day program operations in accordance with established standards and goals
Ensure the program is in compliance will all regulatory requirements and standards such as Title 5, Title 22, Child Care Food Program, and Quality Rating Improvement System
Ensure the health and safety of staff and members
Develop a high quality program by planning, goal setting and creating a vision
Coordinate and oversee site for program development, implementation and operation
Establish and implement the goals and objectives to improve the quality of the program
Conduct Program Self-Assessments and complete the Program Self-Evaluation
Identify and support training and development opportunities for assigned staff
Coach and mentor staff; effectively build a high performing team and collaborate effectively
Establish and maintain productive work environment
Assist Human Resources with recruiting, selecting assigned staff and volunteers, providing program orientation and ensuring productive and effective performance
Support the mission and values by reinforcing ethics and rules of conduct
Ensure establishment of and adherence of policies and procedures
Ensure staff understand and effectively communicate standards of program
Ensure productive and effective performance by all assigned program staff and volunteers
Allocate and monitor work assigned to program staff, providing ongoing feedback and regular appraisal
Manage the site administration duties
Conduct tours and parent orientations for new families
Maintain classroom rosters, attendance records, and sign in and out sheets
Ensure written materials are developed and maintained consistent with guidelines
Maintain proper record keeping and complies reports
Ensure a healthy and safe environment and ensure all facilities, equipment and supplies are maintained
Manage files and records, conduct follow up phone calls, conduct meetings, complete reports and track data
Oversee the site fiscal management
Responsible for documentation of payments and daily deposits for member accounts
Appropriately allocate received funds and invoices for services rendered in database
Maintain appropriate finance records, including documentation that is in compliance with accounting and auditing procedures
Utilize strong interpersonal skills to build relationships and rapport and effectively communicate including verbal, written, in small and large group settings
Display confidence and adept at conflict resolution strategies; practice sound judgment regarding safety
Apply critical thinking skills when problem solving; adapt and be flexible
Manage database for monitoring and evaluating program
Manage multiple priorities and tasks including effective time management and attention to detail
Develop and maintain collaborative partnerships with families and community partners
Maintain close, daily contact with staff, members and supervisors to receive and provide information, discuss issues, explain or interpret guidelines and instructions and advise and counsel

Additional Duties & Responsibilities
Provide direct supervision of children to maintain ratio at all times
Ensure the program to complete the child assessments and Parent Teacher Conferences
Plan and coordinate meetings, trainings and special events
Attend meetings and trainings as necessary
Work to support all BGCGG Programs as needed
Maintain contact as needed with external community groups, members and their families, BGCGG partners and others to promote and ensure the program is successful
Maintain knowledge of community resources to link families with proper services
Maintain knowledge of marketing and recruitment strategies
Utilize resources effectively
Qualifications
Qualifications
AA Degree, Teacher qualifications, and at least 3 years of preschool teaching experience and 2 years of supervisory experience
3 units in Infant/Toddler
Child Development Site Supervisor Permit
3 units of Administration and 2 units of Adult Supervision
Experience with Title V, Title 22, Child Care Food Program
Must have knowledge of child development, early childhood education and developmentally appropriate activities
Must have knowledge of and ability to utilize Microsoft Office
Bilingual capabilities preferred
Valid CA driver license, current auto insurance, safe driving record, reliable transportation and at least two years of driving experience
Must maintain valid CPR certification throughout employment through BGCGG CPR Program or through another acceptable CPR certification agency
Position may require standing/sitting for extended periods of time, walking, jumping, twisting of neck – side to side, rotation, flexion of neck- looking down, dexterity of hands and fingers to operate office equipment, reaching overhead, above the shoulders and horizontally, bending at the waist; seeing to review and analyze reports, documents or other reports; hearing and speaking to communicate and provide information to others; speaking to be heard before groups of people; weight bearing activities – position may require to lift, carry, pull or otherwise move objects between 10-40 pounds.
