PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Direct and manage the Boys & Girls Club’s transportation and vehicle maintenance program. Ensure safe and efficient operation of transportation program.. Evaluate success of strategy, materials and modify as necessary. Establish logistics and assign drivers routes and trips.
KEY ROLES (Essential Job Responsibilities):
Leadership
· Maintain individual files for each van. (files contain all maintenance records, registration, purchases, title, and annual inspection sheets)
· Ensure satisfactory rating of annual CHP Terminal Inspection. Maintain all relevant files in central location.
· When applicable train, assign and review all staff who qualify as van drivers. Provide assistance and support to ensure staff are aware and prepare for testing process. (DMV/CHP)
· Maintain indiv. files for each driver (files contain a copy of driver license, DL-51 if applicable, vehicles approved for use, personal insurance, and any pertinent information related to DMV or CHP laws.)
· Prepare, process and maintain all documents required to verify safety certification and alcohol and drug testing of all drivers.
· Conduct regular driver meetings to discuss safety/training sessions. Maintain all Class B drivers on DMV Pull Notice.
· Ensure staff comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, state laws and submit daily inspection sheets per use. Ensure all drivers maintain up to date medical, first aide, and CPR certifications.
· Other duties as assigned will be required as well. You must be flexible as determined by the needs of the program (occasional Saturdays and late night hours).
School Year transportation
· Prepare and update routes/ schedules for all schools and develop plan to meet future transportation need.
· Assure that all payments are collected and van routes are fill to capacity
· Annually review/update transportation agreement between parents and club. Including walking bus.
· Responsible for assigning, routing, and tracking of transportation program. Make adjustments and schedule staff as needed for minimum days.
· Coordinate transportation for special programs and Field Trips.
· Maintain list of assigned schools and members who are enrolled/paid for program and have plan and strategy set to ensure vans and routes are at full capacity for budget.
o Ensure van payments are made on time. Contact parents as needed.
o Maintain a waiting list and contact prospects once openings arise.
SKILLS/ KNOWLEDGE REQUIRED:
PAY RANGE: $45,000 - $55,000 PER YEAR DOE
Condition of Employment, Benefits and Minimum Qualifications: 1-3 years experience working in related field preferred and possess a Bachelors Degree in a related field. Years of experience in related field may, but not necessarily will, offset education requirement. Submit to a fingerprint/background check; submit a clean DMV H6 report form and CPR and First Aid Certification. Must be professional and maintain Boys and Girls Club standards.
