Primary Function: Plan, implement, facilitate and supervise activities in the Art Room that stimulates youths’ learning and academic success; inspires creativity; and encourages self-expression, critical thinking and problem solving. Promote safety of members, quality of programs and appearance of the Club at all times.

Position Responsibilities (include, but are not limited to):

• Maintain and operate the Art program in accordance with the standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto County Arts Program.
• Promote and stimulate participation in the Art Program.
• Develop, plan and execute a diversified youth development program consistent with the goals and objectives of the Art program.
• Maintain program and individual records.
• Submit all plans and programs for final approval.

Position Requirements (include, but are not limited to):

• High School Diploma/GED preferred
• 2 years of relevant work experience
• Valid State Driver’s License
• Pass pre-employment background screening and drug test
• Belief in the mission, principles, values and standards of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Sarasota and DeSoto Counties.
• Must possess excellent leadership, communication, organizational and interpersonal skills
• Ability to collaborate effectively with staff, teens, parents, local community leaders, schools and community organizations
• Excellent verbal and written communication and computer skills (Microsoft Word required)
• Required to stand, walk and sit.
• Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.
