Description

Position Summary:
The Career Readiness Coordinator will assist the Director of Workforce Development in providing career-development opportunities for the youth of the community. They will facilitate partnerships in the community to build a future pipeline of potential employees for local businesses. The Career Readiness Coordinator will provide mentoring to support club members in making career-related decisions. They will develop and implement curricula using evidence-based resources. They will help Program Leaders reach our Workforce Development goals and support the mission of the Boys & Girls Club of Portage County.

Responsibilities:
Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of program activities
Assist in the development of monthly program schedules and calendars
Identify and support training and development opportunities
Demonstrate leadership to assure the conduct, safety, and development of Club members
Plan and oversee the administration of designated Workforce Development programs, field trips, and activities
Ensure Club Staff are implementing Workforce Development curricula and encouraging participation by all members
Provide coaching, development, and guidance to Work-Based Learning Participants (otherwise known as Junior Staff)
Ensure the evaluation of Workforce Development programs is completed on a continual basis and ensure programs/ activities are diverse and inclusive for all club members
Assist the Director of Workforce Development in initiatives that will benefit and expand the Workforce program, including but not limited to career camp operations
Assist in the maintenance and cleanliness of program areas as necessary
Support Staff in meeting program goals, objectives, and outcomes
Cultivates positive relationships with Club members, parents and/or guardians, school personnel, supervisors, staff, and volunteers by communicating effectively
Market programming to local businesses in the community to actively create and facilitate beneficial partnerships
Network with local professionals to recruit and schedule guest speakers and other activities
Create an understandable curriculum centered around topics related to guest speakers
Develop and maintain a catalog of employers of teens and related data
Assist in or handle special assignments or other duties as deemed necessary or important by their supervisor

Qualifications


Qualifications:
- Able to be First Aid/CPR Certified 
- Must have a Valid State Driver’s License
- High school diploma or a GED is required 
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field is preferred
- At least 1 year of teaching or curriculum development experience 
- High level of professionalism
- Exceptional communication skills
- Technological competency; must be willing to learn skills related to MS Office, Canva, Zoom, and other programs as deemed necessary
- Must be able to pass a reference check and background check
- Must be able to meet deadlines
- Marketing and/or outreach experience preferred
- Experience working with the public preferred

Physical Requirements and Work Environment:
- Standing or walking for up to 8 hours a day
- Pushing or lifting of up to 50lbs
- Ability to handle high noise levels for extended periods of time
