Boys & Girls Club of Placer County is Hiring a Summer Camp Site Director Near Auburn, CA

TITLE: SUMMER CAMP SITE DIRECTOR

LOCATION / PAY: AUBURN / $23.00 per hour

JOB CLASSIFICATION: FULL-TIME TEMPORARY NON-EXEMPT / 40 HOURS PER WEEK

manager and coordination role?

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Under the supervision of the Director of Programs, directs and manages the overall daily operations of the designated summer camp-site. Is cooperative, knowledgeable, friendly, and able to create a safe and collaborative environment. Supports the Club mission to inspire and enable all young people, especially those who need us most, to reach their full potential as caring, productive, and responsible citizens.

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Plan, organize, direct, and manage the overall program.
  • Oversees and coordinates the planning and implementation of all programs, program activities, and field trips, as guided by the Five Key Elements of Youth Development.
  • Ensure program and program activity implementation aligns with summer program objectives and organizational safety practices.
  • Responsible for public relations for summer programs, field trips, events, and attendance.
  • Ensure that external communications such as parent/guardian emails, permission slips, calendars, photos, and/or event flyers, are accurate, professional, up-to-date, and approved by supervisor before distribution.
  • Assure that activities comply with Club policies, legal regulations, and safety procedures.

Personnel Management:

  • Working closely with BGCPC Director of Programs, assist with training, supervision, support, and redirection of program staff and volunteers.
  • Develop, coordinate, and lead site program team, supporting morale, and effective teamwork.
  • Assures that all staff abide by and carry out the policies and procedures and crisis management plans of the organization.

Facility Management:

  • Oversee the maintenance and operation of the physical property and equipment of the assigned site.
  • Ensure that the site is clean, well-maintained, and attractive.
  • Maintain all recreational property, equipment, and facility supplies and inventory.

Public Relations:

  • Actively engage member parents, guardians, and families in programs and activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with staff, volunteers, parents, and guardians to manage behavior, disciplinary needs, and health issues, and recognize members for good work.

Other Duties:

  • Abide by the Boys & Girls Club of Auburn policies and procedures and the Employee Handbook
  • Attend community and Club sponsored events, as requested.
  • Provide quality customer service by meeting and greeting the public, parents, guardians, members, and outside groups entering the facility. Is prepared to provide guided tours and answer questions.
  • Abide by Federal and State Laws.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Programs.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Pass FBI and DOJ background check.
  • Negative TB test.
  • Mandatory CPR and First Aid certification - offered by/included BGC June 2024
  • Strong communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to deal effectively with members including motivating, discipline problems, and incentives.
  • Upon hire, complete BGCA and CA mandated child abuse prevention trainings.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Regularly required to lead physical fitness and recreation programs.
  • Regularly required to reach with hands and arms; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and to talk and hear.
  • Regularly required to walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally required to stoop or kneel.
  • Frequently required to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
