POSITION DESCRIPTION
TITLE: Bus Driver
DEPARTMENT: Support Services
FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt
REPORTS TO: Support Services Director
PRIMARY FUNCTIONS
The Bus Driver will utilize assigned buses to safely transport youth to locations directed by the Support Services Director. This position has the responsibility of completing the daily functions of the organization described below:
  • Conduct Pre & Post trip vehicle inspections and report any safety concerns to the Fleet Manager or Support Services Director so that corrective actions can be taken.
  • Ensure vehicles have the proper amount of fuel.
  • Arrive at scheduled times to transport youth to assigned locations.
  • Assists in developing routes with Site Director and follow established route in transporting members.
  • Observe all State and CDL laws and requirements.
  • Ensure each member is picked up/dropped off in a designated drop off location.
  • Report any disturbances or behavioral issues to the Site Director.
  • Will be required to work mornings, evenings, and occasional weekends.
  • All other duties that may be assigned by the Support Services Director.
CERTIFICATION/ASSOCIATION:
  • Must possess a valid CDL Drivers License with Passenger & Air Brake Endorsement or be willing to be able to get a CDL Learners Permit and complete training course.
  • Must be registered with Boys & Girls Clubs of America (www.mybgca.net).
  • Complete required assigned trainings.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
  • Proficient in using various computer software programs.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS/WORK ENVIRONMENT:
  • Must be able to perform duties which require walking, talking, hearing, standing, sitting, bending for long periods of time. May occasionally be required to kneel, run and/or climb.
  • Must be able to use the telephone and other office equipment.
  • Must be able to lift, move, manipulate and or hold objects up to 25 pounds. Objects that exceed the 25-pound weight limit require additional assistance when moving, lifting, or manipulating.
