Cub Scout Camps seeking a Climbing Director!

Oversees the safe and fun operation of the climbing program at an artificial climbing wall. The program includes group climbs, open climbing sessions, and climbing skills training. Supervises other staff when they support the climbing programs. Training is provided before camp to familiarize staff with programs and procedures.

The job may be tailored as an internship if you need it; it is your responsibility to determine if academic credit is available within your academic department and degree program.

Starting pay is $1,500 for the weekend only summer season, benefits include room and board, training in several program areas, personal leadership development, use of program equipment, free parking, great co-workers, scholarship opportunities, and the satisfaction of making a difference in the lives of youth. College aged staff may receive up to a $1500 scholarship for the completion of a full summer season.

Required Qualifications

• Must be age 21 or older
• Strong communication skills are required
• Applicants from diverse backgrounds are encouraged to apply
• Ability to attend pre-season trainings

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience working directly with youth in the classroom, outdoor recreation sites, summer sites, summer youth camp, or other youth programs preferred
• Experience working with diverse populations between the ages of 5 to 18 is desired
• Experience in climbing instruction

Phillippo Scout camp is located at: 30654 32nd Ave Way, Cannon Falls, MN 55009 just 30 minutes south of the Twin Cities, MN.

The summer camp season goes from June 6th - August 14th. In addition, there is a required paid training 5/30 - 6/2 at Base Camp near Fort Snelling, MN. We are seeking staff who are available to work weekends and weekdays with a weekly day off.
